Greater Hartford Model Yacht Club-IOM April 25

Last Saturday was a surprise, very warm and beautiful weather. Since we had not sailed much thru the Winter, we were all out of shape for extended sailing periods. After a few hours my eyes started to ache and as a result all my skills were challenged. The wind was moderate and pretty steady, no complaints there. The IOMs were in decent shape however Pete Latournes' STAR was not ready for prime time racing; needs more tuning. The IOMs were close in speed and we all were generally pretty close except for the occasional screwup and that skipper got left in the dust. A very enjoyable time was had, we picked up where we left off in the fall. I can't wait until next time, which is soon, that is, this coming Saturday where the scored boats will be the over 40", mostly STARs. The weather looks to be not as warm as last time, but still ok.
